Events
Lavender Lounge Events was created to solve loneliness in the queer community. Bringing together Sapphics, WLW and non-binary people in relaxed and fun environments. Rachel Roberts started Lavender Lounge Events when she realised as a queer women herself, she didn't have friends who were also queer and got her.

Our Story
About Lavender Lounge Events
Lavender Lounge Events are social events for Sapphics, WLW and non-binary people (trans inclusive) to make friends in a fun and relaxed environment in Scotland. Examples of events hosted so far: Pottery painting, sea swim, yoga, dance class, brunch, board games, bingo, quizzes, speed friending, pumpkin carving, gay prom, ceilidh, queer tv watch parties, art class with many more to come.

I have found that most current events out there involve alcohol and partying. After talking to other WLW I have found that there is a need for spaces that are centred around bringing people together in chilled environments.

LLE came from a video I posted at the start of 2025 expressing loneliness as a queer woman. I found it hard to find my circle of gay friends after I came out. I received thousands of comments and DMs from people feeling the exact same way. It made me realise how hard it is to find your people and a real need for safe spaces to make friends in the community. Because every queer person deserves friends who get you!

My hope is that these events make you feel excited at the prospect of finding your people.

Our History
Hi loves, I’m Rachel, I’m 26 and from Scotland. I’m an outdoorsy girl, I love hiking, paddle boarding, sea swims, scrap booking, playing the piano, reading. A random fact about me you didn’t know you needed: I am obsessed with the beach, particularly jumping up and down in the waves. It makes me feel like a kid again. I love travelling, I was lucky enough to spend a lot of 2024 exploring and working in Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii. It was incredible! I also love a cosy night in watching a good movie, eating chocolate and I’m a sucker for a romance novel too, bonus points if it’s gay.
Outside of hosting Lavender Lounge Events, I use my personal social media platform to help others. As someone who has struggled with anxiety and depression and still experience it, I know life can be heavy and difficult at times and I never want anyone to feel alone. I am deeply passionate about people, I love human connection. I want to do what I can to help. I share about mental health, finding your joy, accepting your sexuality and my gorgeous gay life.Â

Creating these events has been the most special, healing and beautiful experience of my life. You are all the loveliest humans and meeting you all makes me so happy. I cannot wait to continue growing Lavender Lounge Events and for what’s to come. Thank you for being part of my gorgeous community.
Lavender Lounge Events started as a passion project as I realised there was a real need for spaces for Sapphics and WLW to make and fosters queer friendships.

I launched in May 2025 with no idea what to expect. Initially hosting 1 event per month in Glasgow. Lavender Lounge Events has grown into a gorgeous community of hundreds of WLW. With regular events happening in Glasgow and Edinburgh each month.

LLE continues to grow and evolve and I am so excited for this journey we are on. I cannot wait to see you again or to meet you at your first event! Come join our safe, fun and relaxed community.
